I am barefoot, mud-mussed mother of dirt and days when rain is right up my alley. Sunshine driven on blue skies like roads washed out above my eyes, and I will fight the suffocation of the satisfaction of how it feels to walk over water wet tiles, warmed over pipes poured out, torn earth thick over my toes... crushed leaves and beetle wings. My feet are calloused, cut and curled, cruising over life and limb, bruised and happy paws on pavement... Sure Ill step on glass, slice blood, bees on clover, catch on doors and rocks stone stubbed and hurt... But I can feel the dirt.
